i'm back (-ish)
No, I'm not dead.

I'm overworked, overstressed, way behind in everything, sick and exhausted, but not dead.

So, yeah, I know, there's been a huge dearth of updates. However, I have lots and lots to update about, so expect a blitz by the weekend if not before.

Without further ado; cruise stuff.

Rachel has already done the detailed cruise recap, and really, if I were to do one, I'd probably just cut and paste hers, and that wouldn't be fun for anyone.

(and yes, I know she's locked. Maybe if you asked her super-nicely, she'd give you a password. Even if she doesn't, I'm still not doing the in-depth cruise-analysis.)

Instead, I think I'll give you the highlights:

  • I loved the pool deck. You could sit on really comfy chairs, in the shade, still get the breeze, and it was okay to smoke in certain areas. I spent way too much time on the pool deck, either reading or people watching.
  • Speaking of people watching, cruises are perfect for it. I mean, totally perfect. And cute boys? Yeah, there were quite a few of those too.
  • The casino had nickel slots. Did that let me lose any less money? Oh god, no. But I think it's cool that they had them.
  • The indoor pool was 16+, which rocked. Anyone who wanted to bring their kids went outside, so the few times I went swimming, I practically had the pool to myself.
  • The breakfast buffet rocked. Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, probably the best scrambled eggs I ever had, and tons of fruit. I could have eaten breakfast three meals a day if they offered it.
  • On the topic of food, the coffee in the fancy dining room was to die for (which makes me wonder why the coffee everywhere else on the boat was so mediocre).
  • The shore excusion we did involved spending lots of time on a catamaran. I so want my own boat. I was even having fun when we were trying to remain upright doing the Macarena while the boat was flying over the water.
  • And (who knew?), I can snorkle. Not well, and not without inhaling sea water at least three times, but I did better than I thought I would.

Conclusion? There is definitely another cruise in my future. And sooner than I had expected. Since I've gotten home, I've had so many good things to say about cruising in general, the family is looking into going on an Alaskan cruise next fall. Yeehah!

The sad part is that I've only been home a little more than a week, and already, I need another vacation. Of course, I have no time for one, nor can I afford one anytime in the near future. Of course, none of that is stopping me from starting to seriously consider JournalCon. (See what you started Lauren?)

Okay, back to work for the time being. I have about three more updates worth of stuff to talk about here (including one for the Google image game), and I have about a dozen Spark updates to do as well. So I'm going to alternate until I'm all caught up, which god only knows when that will actually be.

And I promise, no more dropping off the face of the earth for two weeks. Well, at least not often, okay?
